  • Attendance matters. Regular and consistent school attendance is essential for students to be successful. Please help your child(ren) get to school every day on time. 

    Supervision begins at 7:45am (8:45am Monday) on the playground

     

    Daily Attendance: Tardies and Absences

     

    Morning Attendance

    • Students are marked tardy for the morning if they arrive after 8:00 am (9am on Monday). As a courtesy to teachers and fellow students, please strive to have your child(ren) in class at/as close to 8:00am as you can. 
    • If a student arrives at/later one hour after school start, they will be marked absent for the morning (.5 day).

    Afternoon Attendance (afternoon session begins at 12:30pm)

    • Students are marked tardy for the afternoon if they arrive after12:30pm
    • If a student arrives at/later than 12:30pm they will be marked absent for the afternoon (.5 day).

  • Absences

    • If your child is out of school for an hour or more they will be marked absent for the period(s).
    • If your child is going to be out for the day please contact the office before 9:20am at 907-742-4500 
    • Telling just the teacher of your student's absence will not reflect in their attendance. Calling the office will avoid you from receiving the ASD's robo-calls and emails.
  • Per the Anchorage School District Student Handbook, absence/tardy may be excused for: illness, death or serious illness in the immediate family, participation in a school function, or attendance at religious service. Extenuating circumstances are subject to principal approval.  
     
    Students who are excessively tardy or absent may be required to attend their neighborhood school.  Any student who has 10 consecutive unexcused absences will be unenrolled per district policy.
