Computers are used on a regular basis, and it is critical to the learning environment that students are using technology appropriately. The school network and computers are not intended or provided for personal use. It is our expectation that students adhere to district policy, as well as Highland policy and classroom expectations.

All students are assigned a Google Account (asdk12.net), providing them access to school issued Chromebooks and their Google Drive. The Anchorage School District monitors student accounts, flagging inappropriate content and use. Misuse of a school device may result in a restrictive technology plan or temporary suspension of a student’s account.
Highland recognizes that technology use plays a significant role in students’ academics and everyday lives. It is critical that students know how to manage their time on devices, using them efficiently and appropriately. In an effort to support their growth and mastery of this skill, students are expected to demonstrate a proficient understanding of digital citizenship in all three levels of Career and College Preparedness (CCP).
-
Level 1 - Demonstrate the responsible use of technology at home, in school, and in society
-
Level 2 - Understand the consequences of your digital footprint
-
Level 3 - Understand digital citizenship in the workplace and maintain efficiency in a world of distractions
We appreciate your commitment to maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all students. Please sign below, acknowledging your responsibilities as a digital learner at Highland Academy Charter School.
