NEW! Real-time school bus updatesDownload Stopfinder, a secure app that gives real-time updates on your child’s school bus schedule. Quickly find your child’s bus stop, see pick-up and drop-off times, and get alerts when the bus is near certain areas on the map.
Quick checks:
- Look at your school’s walking map to determine your best route.
- If you qualify for transportation services, find your bus route.
- Optional: Complete the zone exempt application, which is used to request transportation outside the school boundary assigned.
- Optional: Bus route exception form, which is used to request transportation to a site like a child care center, family member’s house, etc. within the school boundary.
If you have questions about your route or need to request transportation to an alternate site within your school's boundary, contact Transportation Services 907-742-1200.

Safety Check: Know the Protocols

- All visitors must show ID to enter school buildings (Raptor Visitor Management System).
- Download the STOPit app to address bullying or help those in need.
- NEW! Metal detectors will rotate across schools throughout the year for weapon detection and deterrence.

- Talk with your student about school safety.

PreK-12 grade students who did not attend ASD last year need to enroll.

NEW! Cell Phone Policy
- No cell phone use in class, all phones will be off or in airplane mode and put away.
- Elementary and middle school students will not be allowed to access phones during the school day. High school students may only access phones during passing and at lunch.
- If your child needs special academic or medical access, contact your school to create a plan.

Chromebooks
Starting in sixth grade, students get a laptop computer (Chromebook) checked out for their educational use. Students keep their device all the way through graduation, or until they leave the District.

Review the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) video and read more about mental health and student supports
- Mental health includes social, emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being.
- ASD is dedicated to strengthening mental and behavioral support services for students.
- The District has highly trained professionals including school counselors, school psychologists, and behavior analysts that work along with school-based staff to support student’s mental health and behavioral needs. ASD also collaborates with community partners to provide integrated mental health clinicians at some school sites.

Academies of Anchorage

All comprehensive high school students will take College and Career Exploration and Personal Finance courses in 9th grade. Freshman will also participate in Freshman Orientation on their first day of high school, Thursday, August 14.
