    About the awards

The Dr. Bruce Wood, Most Outstanding Fine Arts Senior and Exemplary Artist awards and scholarship was founded by former Director of Fine Arts for ASD, Dr. Bruce Wood in 2018.

    How it works

Now in its 7th year, every year a senior who shows exceptional skill, talent, and dedication to their craft in music, theater, dance, or visual arts is chosen by our Secondary Instructional Division chair committee. After the senior is chosen, a second student from the visual arts, in grades 9-12 is chosen from a selection of their portfolio images showcasing their skills in portraiture. The two students meet and collaborate on ideas for the portrait and the Exemplary Artist creates the portrait which will hang in front of the boardroom at the ASD education center.

    The Scholarship

The Most Outstanding Fine Arts Senior and the Exemplary Artists will both receive a $1200 scholarship for post-secondary education.
